Host Policy

This policy applies to your use of the Service as a Host. For the purposes of this document; a “host” is anyone who lists a car on the Rentjaap platform, meanwhile a 'Car' means any vehicle you make available to Guests through the Service and “guest” refers to anyone renting a car on the Rentjaap platform.

 

By listing your Car on rentjaap.com, you agree to the following terms:

 

Ownership:

You understand and agree that you have the legal authority to list your vehicle on Rentjaap. You agree to provide documentation of legal title and ownership of your Car upon request by Rentjaap or the legal authorities in relation to your dealings on the rentjaap.com platform.

 

While third-party management of vehicles and transactions on Rentjaap either through car rental agencies or directly employed third parties is allowed, a legal document/agreement between the car owner and the third party must be established and provided. 

All parties operating on Rentjaap (whether the owner or third party acting on behalf of the host) must agree to the host policy (stated in this document). 

 

Roadworthiness:

You are responsible for maintaining the roadworthiness of your car making sure it meets all applicable national and local laws/legal requirements of the state. 

You are not allowed to make any modifications or place any devices, equipment, or other items that may interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.

 

  1. Your vehicle must be registered and have a license plate number. You agree to keep all registration documents in the glove compartment of your car at all times. You may choose not to share this on your listing, in this case, make sure to blur/redact all instances of the licence plate on the photos of your car. 
  2. The car must be in a good condition to drive. You are responsible for maintaining your car and keeping it in good driving condition making sure that it is safely operable by the guest.
  3. You must perform regular maintenance for your car. You are responsible for obtaining regularly scheduled maintenance for your Car in accordance with all national/local laws requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
  4. Inspect your car regularly. Ideally, you should check the condition of your car between every trip (trip refers to a rental, every time your car is rented out to a guest). At a minimum, check on your car every 7 days.
  5. Make sure your car is fully insured according to national and local laws. You agree to keep any and all insurance documents (proof of insurance) in the glove compartment of your car at all times.

 

 

Proper Care of your vehicle and rental procedure:

Parking:

When your Car is active on Rentjaap (available for rent), you are responsible for parking correctly (i.e: following all applicable parking rules and regulations). You are solely responsible for all parking tickets, and resulting fees and/or obligations resulting from your Car being improperly parked while outside a trip. 

 

Cleanliness: 

You are responsible for making sure that your Car is regularly cleaned. Your Car must be clean at the start of each Reservation period. The Guest is instructed to return your car in better condition than they picked it up.

 

Smoking:

You are not allowed smoke in the Car at any time and will ensure the car is smoke-free. The Guest is not permitted to smoke in your car.

Listing:

Description

Give a vivid and authentic description of your car. The guest should be able to know the exact type of car you have put up by it/their vivid description and also make sure your authenticity of the car Is such that the guest will be sure to have just what he/ she booked for when it's pick up time

 

  1. what is the colour of the car? is it black, red, white etc lets the guest know what your car looks like.
  2. Tell your guest what the make of your car is that is who manufactured the car, is it Toyota, Ford, Nissan etc. 
  3. Also tell the guest what the state of your car tell the guest if your car is ok to hit the road, your host needs to be sure your car is in a good condition to hit the road. 
  4. Define the features of the car. Tell the guest if the engine of your car is ok. you must ensure your car has all the essential features necessary to hit the road. You can also tell your guest if your car has an AC or not.

 

Pricing

You should set the price for your vehicle. You can set a price marketable so you can attract guests to request your car.

 

Location

You should set pickup and drop-off locations for your car. The primary location is generally free or you can also send other secondary locations depending on the guest who will be paid for. you can set a price for secondary locations.

 

Rules

You should set the do and don't of your car and the guest must follow the rules set by the host.

 

Booking

The host should set a time when the guest can expect confirmation. The host must give a detail of the booking condition and is expected to respect the time he/ she has given.

 

 In case of cancellation, the host must do that 3 hours after recieving the booking request so the guest can look for other alternatives.

 

If the host cancels an approved booking less than 24 hours to the pickup time, an automatic review will be posted for this host indicating that he/she cancelled an approved booking less than 24 hours to the pickup time. This will also reduce your overall rating.
